We all know that when you have kids, taking time to take care of yourself as a mama isn't always a major priority. That's why we've decided to create the 5 Minutes for Mama series. Each week we'll give you five tips that will take less than 5 minutes to do on how you can look after yourself as a mother so that you can be your best self for your family. There will be a different theme for each week. This week we're looking at super simple and easy beauty hacks.
1. Fast drying nails
As a busy mama, you probably think you don't have time to paint your nails because there's a baby to carry, food to be cooked, cleaning to be done and no time for your nails to dry. We have a hack for that. Just submerge your freshly painted nails in cold water for a minute or two and you and your nails are set.
2. Baking soda scrub to remove dead skin
Feeling less than glowy? Why not mix up a baking soda and water paste to use as a scrub once a week. It gets rid of all the dead skin on your face and leaves your skin looking fresh, smooth and glowing.
3. Use honey to remove blemishes
If you have a nasty blemish appearing and don't have time for a facial or even a face mask, we have a hack for you. Put honey on the blemish before bed and cover it with a bandaid and by morning it should be gone. The honey will also prevent and treat scars.
4. Cover up grey hairs with mascara
When you don't have time in your busy schedule to go to the hair dresser to get your roots retouched, use mascara. Simply go over the grey hairs with your mascara wand. Be sure to wipe off the excess mascara. Please note, this will only work if you have dark hair.
5. Quick and easy winged eyeliner
If you don't have time in your morning makeup routine to try something a little different and time consuming, try this quick and easy winged eyeliner tutorial for the perfect cat eye in under 5 minutes.
Happy beauty hacking, beautiful mamas!
